So yes, I'm well late posting but hey!!  Went to Dahkla again in mid may, arrived and no wind!!!  Bugger!!  So a little trip was sorted to the wave spot and we took some surf boards......now I have to admit at this stage that I am not a surfer and by the looks of the other kiters getting smashed up the beach, neither were they!!  2nd day of no wind and it was chillin time and eating watching the 2 pods of dolphins come into the lagoon on both days fishing!! 3rd day a massive thunderstorm complete with heavy rain hit in the morning, I was thinking, hang on a minute this is the sahara!!!  WTF?!!!  The guys from the Attitude camp said this happens a few times a year and also that the wind can dissappear for up to a week sometimes!!  In fact there had been little wind the week before I arrived.  Still the wind was changing directions all the time but one of the instructors was whippin around dodging the lightning!!!

Finally afternoon the wind started to kick in again, 12m weather it was and the next day also, till at lunchtime the wind started to crank up again in a Dakhla style that is more normal, hitting round 30knots mid afternoon....only had my 9 but all was good!!

Dune Blanche downwinder 1 afternoon, 45km distance and a wicked playground to mess around at when u get there...have a look on youtube for vids, though no one fancied jumping off the top of the dune...perhaps next time!!

The wind carried on blowing for the remainder of the week, super sunny and kited till early eve as the sun went down over the lagoon.......

Hit the speed spot at low tide, super flat and I mean very flat with a strong 30knt wind again, never have been that fast.....no need to pop its all so auto!!  had to teach the windsurfers a lesson and we were all whippin along, pissed off as my gps played around and top speed was around 70km......after you have had enough its a 15 min down/cross/upwind back to the camp for lunch!!  All that with flamingoes flying around you and so many fish under your board as you go along, they love my fins alot as I could feel em being sliced up a bit!!

Dakhla is a pain to get to, the flite home is an arse but its soooo well worth it, for all styles and levels it ha something for all.  The Attitude Camp staff are real nice and food is good and loads....atill I managed to lose 2kg over the week despite eating like a pig!!!  You just need to bear in mind you will need a holiday after it as you will be battered!!!!

A tops week again, the place has been done up a bit and the water doesn't stink so much!!!  For those who have been you'll know where I am coming from!!!

surfed 24 hours
